About Me
My name is Julia Carpenter. I am the bestiaryist. I am also an animal artist and writer. I worked in the past in the wildlife and environmental field, in which I hold academic degrees from Boston University and Tufts. I have had a lifelong friendship and association, researching, training and caring for animals. I grew up on a horse farm in Vermont. I am also a licensed horseback instructor and trainer. I divide my time between Essex, Massachusetts and Lenoir, North Carolina. My animal paintings have been shown in galleries and shops in the suburbs of Boston and in Essex and Ipswich, Massachusetts. I love spending as much time as possible in the company of animals. I have coined the term “bestiaryist” to describe my work, chronicling the life of individual animals in art and words. |
