It was a great year for which I feel a ton of gratitude. I have allowed myself 4 images per month to review its texture and richness. I must say I had to leave out so much.I hope you enjoy this glimpse. January  A friend copied my shoes from memory and gifted me these little mock downs for my birthday on January 7th.  Bernie and Polly went to Lake Mattamuskeet and starred in the beautiful PBS Special *Swan Song.  The power of meditation. It looks like the ponies have been drugged, but it is my meditation that brought them into this deep state of peace. Sometimes this ability of humans to deliver peace is hard to comprehend.  First *Two Step Way Clinic at *REIN Rescue with REIN volunteers. All the horses in the clinic were mustangs and feral youngsters. February  Liam Pearson and Bernie put a nice load of firewood on the porch. We heat our small cabin with wood, so wood is an important part of our lives. All the firewood is gathered and split and stored right on our land. Liam did a lot of the splitting and stacking. Bernie did all the felling and limbing. Firewood is good exercise even with a tractor's help.  Cracker in the Tryon Equine Hospital ER with Bernie. Cracker had a freak accident. He ran into a pigtail stake which flipped upside down and the part that sticks in the ground stabbed and punctured his intestines. He made it after we had considered putting him down, but it took 3 months for him to recover. This is one thing this year that we are so grateful for. Thank you to *Tyron Equine Hospital Staff, Dr. Ellison Aldrich, Dr Hay and Harvey Equine Services for saving Cracker.  The spikes that pierced Cracker's intestines.  We flipped the owl box on the long pole to the ground. Bernie put his arm in the hole in the box and started to pull out the debris, when he felt something feathery and soft. He next stuck his camera in the box and this is who he found was in there. Sorry to disturb your rest little fellow.  Little old Paxton greets me as I step out of my truck at REIN Rescue. March  Blue sky and healing belly. Cracker's wounds healing well with all the great care.  A pot of cheerful flowers has an early March start.  Some March weather is nice for napping, as the rain waters the the growing plants outside.  Bernie teaching his niece Laura, visiting from Paris, home-owner skills. April  Spring meditation with some REIN fillies.  Demonstrating the slight pressure Liv is feeling from me at a lunch talk at Dreamwinds Farm in Tryon.  Bernie and I dressed up to ride in the *Leatherwood Mule Days Parade. We are accompanied by all our equine friends. Left to right, Polly,Brick, Cracker, Magneto and Pie. May  Learning the skull plates and sutures for craniosacral level one with *Shea Stewart's Equine Balance in Texas was amazing.  Working with a horse named Big on the second day of Shea Stewart's level one crainosacral course.  Lucky and I sit with the blooming peonies.  Bringing in the herd. June  Working with a Two Step Way client on meditation and the whole herd laid down. It was a magic moment.  Lucky who often helps Bernie out with whatever he is up to, tries on his Bee suit.  Bernie loves being a goof. Don't worry he does have shorts on.  The dogs and Bernie drop me off at the bus station for my summer trip to my friends retirement party. July  The *PBS documentary Swan Song, staring Polly and Bernie comes out and this is the poster for it.  I walk with Fabulous Freddie at REIN Rescue.  Ivan explores items from my bag of interesting stuff, the Bag of IS.  Pie and Diggity on a ride to the bald. August  Brick and Cracker rest in the heat, in front of our hay barn. My brother visited me, and we went to see the warrior tree.  All things age, even when you wish they didn't.  Behold the sun's rays of the waning year . December  Bernie makes and hangs me a special sign that says "See the being", which is one of the sayings of my Two Step Way.  Horses resting on Christmas Day.
