Recently, both my husband Bernie and I were interviewed for episodes of Lynn Carnes' Creative Spirits Unleashed Podcast https://lynncarnes.com/podcast/. Bernie was interviewed about his new book, “Two Mules to Triumph” https://www.amazon.com/Two-Mules-Triumph-Through-America/dp/B0DFY64QGS, and his long ride from our farm in Western North Carolina to Idaho with his two mules, Brick and Cracker, which the book is about.
Early last spring I had the good fortune to sit down and talk with world renown mule trainer and clinician, Ty Evans. We had a wonderful chat about how we can help our mules and horses to be more calm and connected in our presence. It was a lovely joining of the foundational stuff that both my Two Step Way and his TS Mulemanship believes are essential for building great connection and thus partnership for what ever comes next, be it serious competition or just having a great time with your equine. It took a while for this podcast to finally make it to broadcast but now with one name change later, from Two Step Technique to Two Step Way it is out.
Our old mule Polly was standing in the sun in front of the shed on the right. I sat down at the base of the tree in the photo and started working with her. She walked over and laid down next to the hay pile. I followed her over and kept working with her. She finally let go of her tension from the windy weather and fell asleep.
